The first person I’m starting this project off with, is me. I’m 18, from Connecticut. I live for photography, arts, plants and music. But I feel my purpose in life is to help others find beauty.
Not just their physical beauty- but inner as well. I started this project based off of some messages I received. A few girls said they wanted to model for me, but they felt too ugly- which to me, seemed ridiculous because these girls were absolutely stunning. But sometimes it takes me a second to realize, they may not see it. And that’s where I come in.
This project isn’t some miracle fix, promising that I’m going to cure you from ever feeling bad about yourself. No. but I’m here to help you see yourself in a different light. They way I may see you, or others, and how you stand out. I’ll take photos and showcase things you may not have even thought about as being beautiful.
I am also having interviews with these lovely people who volunteer to be a part of my project. Because this project isn’t solely about outer beauty. It’s about people as wholes, how their personality reflects on to the world. I want to know about them, what their passions are, how they like to live their lives, their greatest struggles or successes. I want to show the better parts of them to the world and serve as a reminder to themselves.
There was a long time I felt awful about myself. Mentally and physically I hated my own being and I hated who I had become. I had the realization that it wasn’t the way to live and set out to change it. So here I am. Physically, working towards my weight loss journey to keep my body healthy and happy. Mentally, it’s a bit harder. But keeping up my self love and admiring every roll of my stomach and wrinkle on my face has helped me tremendously. And I’m hoping his project can help others too. Look at people at a different perspective and learn different types of beauty. It’s all there- we just need to learn to see it. ..
